Shaker styled designs have been around since the 1700’s with the core creation of the furniture being function over design. Substance over style if you will. These designs focus on being very simple, with lots of straight lines, running on the minimalistic theme. Shaker designs do seem to be more prevalent in fitted kitchen designs, but we’re here to show you that you can bring that Shaker style into your fitted bedroom design.
Shaker Styled Fitted Bedrooms
If you want to elevate your Shaker style wardrobe, why not make it the focal point of your fitted bedroom? Choose a stand out colour such as dark grey, blue, black etc and accessories it up. Choose different materials or different metals that work with the colour that you have chosen and really make it pop. If you do choose darker colours, why not pair it with brass or bronze fixtures and light fittings. You can bring that touch of metal into other accessories in the room such as photo frames or vases.
Choosing to stay white and cream doesn’t mean you have to have a boring fitted bedroom. You can create a really classic bedroom through the use of neutral tones. Going for neutral tones ensures you can really stick to the Shaker theme. It also allows natural light to bounce around the room more, making the room feel brighter and airier. We would definitely recommend going lighter with your decor if your room is slightly on the smaller side.
But if you want to bring Shaker into the 21st century, then why not add in some mirrors to break up the design? Not only will it make the room feel a little bit more modern but it also has function.
