Having children sharing a room can be difficult at the best of times, and we understand that each child wants their own space and their own privacy. But we also know that that means the interior design of the room will become a bit of a challenge! Here at Starplan Fitted Bedrooms, thanks to our decades of experience in the furniture and bedroom industry, we have been able to come up with a few handy hints and tips to try and make the room share that little bit easier!
Fitted Bedrooms
It’s very important to make sure everyone who shares the room has enough storage space. Shared rooms can get very cluttered, very quick! And that can be another key element in making a room look and feel smaller than it is. Which is something you definitely want to avoid when it comes to a shared bedroom. But an easy way to increase storage is with a fitted bedroom and fitted wardrobes. They can be built into the room no matter how small or awkward the shape is. And it’s also an easy way to create clear storage areas.
Neutral colours work well in shared rooms. Each child can add their own touch of individuality by having different coloured bedding, pillows, posters or lighting. However, try not to have TOO colours as they can clash and make the room seem messy.
Try and establish separate spaces for both children. Screens and sliding panels are an easy and temporary way of creating separate areas.
