Lighting in the kitchen can have a huge impact on the mood and feel of a room. And adding a little bit of extra light into your fitted kitchen can really transform a room.
It’s important to remember that you need lighting that is suitable for all times of the day. You don’t want to be coming down first thing in the morning and blinding yourself with bright, white lighting whilst you’re trying to make a coffee. But then on the other hand, you don’t want to struggle to see what you’re cooking when it comes to making the family dinner. So it’s all about finding the best of both worlds when it comes to your fitted kitchen.
Lighting in the Kitchen
If you’re not blessed with a huge amount of natural light in your kitchen, then the easiest way to add more light into the room is exactly that, bring more lights into your kitchen! That could be something as simple as draping fairy lights, or even adding mini downlights under your cabinets.
If you do have a stream of natural light, why not add a mirror to the surface that the light shines onto? Mirrors are a brilliant way to reflect even more light into the room and make it feel bigger as well as brighter. Talking about reflective surfaces, why not choose a glossy finish for your kitchen cabinets or worktops? That works in the same way that mirrors do. You could even add in small kitchen accessories, like chrome kettles, toasters etc all with the purpose of reflecting light in and around the room.
