Lockdown has been effecting us all in many different ways. Whether that’s the added stress of trying to deal with work phone calls whilst being at home with the children, working more hours to cover other people’s sickness or just dealing with other covid related situations, this can have a massive effect on sleep. Here at Starplan Fitted Bedroom Showroom, we understand how important sleep is for everyone. And we wanted to pull together a little blog with a few ideas on how to help wind down. We hope that there’s something in here that helps!
Ways to wind down
During stressful times like this, self care is extremely important. That could be something as easy as running a nice, hot bath for yourself. Adding in some soothing scents and lighting up some candles. Or you could enjoy listening to a pod cast, do some painting or meditation. Take some time for yourself, no matter how little or long it might be during the day and feel your inner battery recharge.
It’s been well documented that phones can have a negative effect on sleeping, and research has shown that to be able to wind down successfully, it’s worth avoiding your phone for around an hour before bedtime. Why not spend an hour in bed reading or doing a crossword or sudoku? You’re avoiding any harsh lights and it’s a simple way to take your mind off the stresses of the day.
But, if you’re more of a writer than a reader, why not try and get down your thoughts and worries for the day, leave them on the paper instead of swirling around in your head.
