But if you are looking for a kitchen that has a country style but with a more modern touch then we’ve come up with some brilliant ways to do just that.

- Add a touch of charcoal
Grey’s are very in right now, and charcoal packs the perfect monotone punch without being too out there. If you pair it with pale ceilings and walls, you won’t have that overwhelming feeling of darkness.
- Or go for a brighter shade?
If you’re not a fan of dark colours, then go the opposite side of the spectrum and go for something bright. Painted wood is taking on the interior design world and we for one are behind it! If you don’t want to go over the top, why not just add in some brightly coloured accessories. Maybe some painted wooden or wicker storage baskets to tie in that country feel?
- Metal works
It’s a tried and tested trend that metallic finishes work against that rustic traditional feel of a country fitted kitchen. This is an easy way to add a modern touch, you could change the light shades for something with a metallic finish, or even changing the knobs/handles on your cabinets.
